I am writing this email in direct response to the recent announcement by Ulster Bank to close ten branches in Northern Ireland.
 
This decision is hugely disappointing and a shocking abandonment by Ulster Bank of their loyal customer base and a bitter blow to communities in Northern Ireland.
 
I ask that you immediately contact Ulster Bank and call on them to reverse their decision to close these ten branches and further request the Bank to give a wider commitment to the branch network and to jobs and local communities by announcing that Ulster Bank will not close any branches for the next five years.
 
Closing branches will only result in losses of jobs, reduced in person banking services for communities, business, and for those most in need of financial advice and support.
 
As society we are moving more online for our banking needs, but all research tells us  there is a large cohort of people who are reliant on in person banking for their  financial needs.
 
As a local constituent I ask for your help on this important matter for businesses for communities and to help save jobs.
